Gethzi was born in Erode, South India. She received theological training and was ordained as the first woman in the Church of South India (CSI) Coimbatore Diocese.
Gethzi is deeply committed to biblical values that reflect the Kingdom of God, as preached and practiced by Jesus.
In 2005, Gethzi and her husband, Samson, moved to Adelaide, Australia. She went on to complete a Master’s degree and a PhD in Biblical studies, in the field of Old Testament at Flinders University. Gethzi began her ministerial career in Australia as a hospital chaplain at Lyell McEwin Hospital, later serving at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Royal Adelaide Hospital. She then worked as the Spiritual Care Manager for the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) within SA Health.
Driven by a passion for ordained ministry, she returned to church service, was commissioned as a priest, and joined St Luke’s Church, a community with a strong missional focus.
She is also involved in theological education, serving as a lecturer in Biblical Studies at St Barnabas College, which prepares people for both ordained and lay ministries. Passionate about ministry among women, Gethzi is active in the Mother's Union and currently serves as its President in the Diocese of Adelaide.
Gethzi and Samson are blessed with a daughter, Hanukkah. They are also actively involved in the Tamil Church community that meets at St Richard’s, Lockleys.
